The idea of a reboot is founded on the same universe of characters and main storyline, developed and changed through various influences of the new age generations’ preferences, technological evolution and emotional drivers that encourage us to be responsive and assertive about our needs.

Why not a remake and a reboot instead?

In the case of Winx Club, we have seen the creators in the past experiment after Nickelodeon’s final season with a following spin-off, World of Winx and Fate: The Winx Saga live action on Netflix, which both received mixed reactions from the loyal audience on the show losing its originality in the idea of fairy magic and diverse facial artwork.

Therefore, this is where a reboot idea comes in, where rebooted animations can update and improve the show with new feedback and stay connected across generations, such as millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha, which collectively engage with the visual and appealing preferences of the version they watch.

Dolls are making a comeback

With Gen Alpha and Gen Z’s desire for collectable dolls and toys flooding social media feeds and the merchandise market, Winx Club is not an exception to the expanding nostalgia and prioritising playtime, embracing people’s inner child and childlike play, wonder, and fun as adults, and for younger generations, find an escapistic way to cope with their early teenage phase.

From players to be able to customise their fairy type and unlock their potential before even seeing the show, personalising their living in familiarising with other characters/players, dressing up and fighting the dark evil with new fairy combo spells, boosting socialising in roleplaying and making friends to join the club.

Allowing the new generation to process their own cultural references to the world of Winx Club with their perception of fashion, excitement, and personality traits.
