Hello, it’s me

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll be well aware that in the early hours of Friday morning, Adele dropped her latest and hugely anticipated album, 30. After a 6 year hiatus, she’s back and better than ever.

The album consists of 12 tracks telling a story about life as a mum, the scrutiny of fame and the collapse of her marriage as she finally came to terms with the fact that she was unhappy. The heartfelt songs have seen a roaring success since their release with her single ‘Easy On Me’, breaking the all time record for most streamed song in a single day on Spotify with 24 million global streams, as well as the most streamed song in a single week with a whooping 84.9 million views.

The third song on the album is one to pay close attention to. Adele can be heard having vulnerable conversations with her son Angelo in snippets between the verses, as she tries to explain to him how she’s been feeling since the divorce from her first husband Simon Konecki. One of the most heart wrenching clips hears Adele tell her son “Mummy’s been having a lot of big feelings recently” and then goes on to say “Just, like, mummy, I’m, I’m, the feeling that I have…Like, um, I feel a bit confused“. There’s so much raw emotion in this track and has full potential to get you to shed a tear or two.

If you weren’t an Adele fan before, you’re sure to have a soft spot for her after giving this album a listen.
