Moving to a city from a village is a big shock, whether moving because of uni, a job, or just a change, there’s always a few things that you need to be prepared for and just general tips for moving away and what to expect.
Moving to a city is different to visiting a city for a holiday and then going home after a few days, one of the things that you will notice is that there are so many more people, and with that; interesting people from so many different cultures, this is really good for you to broaden your perspective and to gain inspiration from your surroundings and grow as a person.
Another thing that you will notice, and hopefully love about the city you move to is the amount of new things to do and places to visit, whether that be food or things to do. That’s one thing you will notice quite quickly and hopefully take advantage of!
Hopefully , it its your scene, you will notice the increased options and venues for nightlife, if it’s a club, pub, or restaurant; you will find something for you. Take time exploring and don’t stick to just one, you will eventually refine your night out to the best spots in the city.
Making friends is always scary as an adult, much easier as a child, but you will find, in your new venture, that so many people are in the same boat as you, don’t be scared to reach out, be friendly and be open and approachable. Life with others is so much more enjoyable and connected than life alone!! After uni or work ask to meet up with mates/colleagues and bond in a non work setting.
