Summer burnout to Autumn glow out: Why autumn is the best time to glow up
For many of us, September can mark the back-to-school season, but it can be an entire rebrand for some. To lock in from the chaotic summer season we thrived in, to indulging in expanding our minds in a good book. Or even something as simple as a fresh walk-through, crunchy leaf filled parks. It’s all about romanticising every aspect of your day. Think of it as activating your Pinterest board in real life. How perfect would it be? 😍
Why do we need a mid-year reset?
Our generation is a cycle of continuous and constant updating, which is not limited to the screens of our phones but ourselves, re-entering the villain era, self-love rituals and overall power surge of growth. It is not only natural but a way of moving forward together with the seasonal shift. And from a hectic or perhaps boring summer, September is here to bring us motivation, drive and new beginings, even for those who aren’t going back to education. You may have left school or external studies years ago, but it’s the instant connection to back-to-school ways september can hold over our inner child, which is why the back of our mind whispers, “I need a new notebook, organisation and full force mode”.
The psychological side of it
September’s reset also feels like we are taking the lead in our decision-making and resolutions, in contrast from January, which can feel like we are being forced into a bubble of self-reinvention and everyone else around us is doing the same. September is gentler; take it in small doses of change to be able to feel more confident when January does arrive.
why we savour in September
The cosy core sweater, whether aesthetics!! As much as we all adore summer skirts and tan lines, it would lose its novelty if it weren’t for the cosy knit, candlelight soft launches of autumn, (and don’t get us started on Halloween’s soon-to-be arrival) it brings a wave of peace and warmth to us that summer can’t always hit the same.

main character energy
There isn’t another feeling in the world that can waver a chock hold on us as much as a main character energy playlist that stands on business and indulging in self-care and admiration. through the comfort of chunky and cosy headphones to keep your ears warm as the temperature begins to drop.
So, if August felt like a recurring hangover, then make September an iced caramel latte and vitamins reset. It doesn’t have to be drastic and is completely judgement free. It’s just a quick reminder that we can edit and upgrade our self-made brands as many times as we like just like our unfinished adobe folders.
