All you need to know: Exquisite Gucci

The Gucci Exquisite Collection was showcased during Milan fashion week. Most of the new collection by Alessandro Michele included pieces that fit Gucci’s typical branding and style.

All the designs were elaborate and chic as the models showcased them on a unique runway, in which the walls in the middle of the room were covered in mirrors to create a sort of optical illusion as the models took the runway. Alessandro made a unique connection between fashion and mirrors and in his press notes he stated “I celebrate the clothes as real optical labs: magical machines that can give birth to fairy tales of metamorphosis and re-enchantment.”

Who was there?

There were a few celebrity faces at the show, including mum-to-be Rhianna who wore a cropped black shirt to show off her beautiful bump. She was accompanied by ASAP Rocky who wore all black but held a Gucci suitcase in his left hand. The couple looked glowing as they walked into the event showing off Rhianna’s bump!

80’s glamour was one of the key trends on Michele’s runway, with glittered suits, oversized sunnies, bold animal prints on fur coats and knee length leather boots. Leather was also a key trend during the show, with leather pants, bags and boots all on show. Houndstooth blazers were also overly present within the show, mostly in neutral browns and greys but also in yellows and blues. These three key trends will definitely be major trends in Fall and Winter later this year.

Are you excited for Gucci x Adidas?

One of the more stunning parts of the Exquisite Gucci show was their unexpected collaboration with Adidas. It give us vintage athleisure pieces on the runway, which was a refreshing change. The collaboration embraced both of the brands’ well-known colours and branding. Some pieces were green, red and blue whereas others were black and white with the classic three adidas stripes. The Gucci x Adidas range comes soon after the insanely talked North Face x Gucci collaboration, which has been a wild success so far.
