An Interview with @LUVYUTE – From a hobby to a whole lotta recognition.

From what started off as a hobby, rising influencer and model, Shelley has found a passion within the content creating industry. With over 80,000 followers, her instagram displays her love for fashion, lifestyle and beauty, providing a glimpse of her day to day life; creating posts, reels and TikTok videos. Shelley has been recognised for her artistic and authentic style, working with the likes of PrettyLittleThing, Jadedldn and Urban Outfitters.

How would you describe the content you produce? Do you use Tiktok, Instagram, YouTube, reels etc)

The content I create is mainly on Instagram (posts and reels) but I also create some content on Tiktok.

What trends are you seeing that you want to see more of? Do you follow trends or are you more of a trendsetter? Or you do what you like?

I love the photo dump trend – it’s great to see more of what people’s lives look like and what they see through their eyes rather than just what they look like all the time. Photo dump reels are my faves – especially monthly roundups. I think it will be super cute to look back on your monthly dumps all together at the end of the year!

I follow some trends if I feel I can connect with them. I won’t just go along with all trends because I like to keep my content authentic to what I like and my own personal taste.

What is a recent campaign or brand collaboration that you’re most proud of and why?

I recently collaborated with Urban Outfitters for their Ed Hardy collection. I really loved that campaign just because I really liked the pieces and the content brief landed itself to my personal style well. I was able to get creative using different media to take the pictures which I love!

How would you describe your style?

I always struggle to define my style as I feel like its constantly changing and evolving. At the moment, I’m really into strong basic pieces with nice fits and neutral tones. I guess if I had to describe it, I’d say it’s a sort of modern tactical style to take on the 90s/00s model off duty looks.

How did you get into content creating/influencing/modelling?

I’ve always been a big social media user since my early teens – starting from Tumblr, to Snapchat, to Instagram. So social media has always been an interest of mine but once I went to university, I found myself searching for other things to do besides my degree and content creating just happened to be that! Overtime my following just grew!

What inspires you to keep posting and creating content?

I genuinely love social media! I’m either taking content, planning content, consuming content/trends, styling outfits etc. It’s like a hobby of mine and that itself is what motivates me. I don’t know how I’d spend my days if I wasn’t doing that…

When was the moment you felt like an influencer?

I don’t know if there’ll ever be a point where I’ll really feel like an influencer! There are times where I’ll hit a follower milestone and I’m like “wow that’s a lot of people” but really, they’re just numbers on a screen to me, it doesn’t feel real at all.

Biggest achievement in the last two years?

My biggest achievement in the last two years is turning this little hobby I had into an income. That’s something I never really considered possible when I started out!
