#TheStreetScene: Streetwear brands and their take on Autumn’s biggest emerging streetwear trend

We don’t do tight-fitting clothing this season

This AW season, our favourite upcoming brands such as Harem London, RAW WAR and XUMU have all been hopping on the oversized trend! Alongside other major brands which hit the runway, such as Burberry, Dries Van Noten and Todd Snyder, this pending winter is going to be the cosiest one yet! Here to make a statement in the upcoming colder months, the items within the look-books showcased give off the ultimate relaxed feel – more so than we have ever seen before.

‘Love Tee’ by Harem London

Bridging the gap between two famous cities, Harem London intertwines the two cultures of London and Istanbul in to one, creating the highest quality pieces of clothing as they aim to create clothes for forward thinkers. Their contemporary pieces are like no other, especially with all items designed and made in their studio, based in East London. Harem London add a real sense of authenticity to their garments, which is something rare in the modern saturated market. Some of the standout pieces from their AW20 look-book included baggy hoodies that fit in with the oversized theme this season, alongside their take on the parka style. The strong uses of blue and red compliment the monotone colours of black and white, especially with the array of patterns on show within their kimono and capelet female items. Their spin on a plain white tee featuring a barcode on the back is surely going to be sold out in no time, with this looking like a staple streetwear piece for your winter wardrobe.

RAW WAR is one of the most exciting streetwear brands in the fashion market at this current time, with their AW20 collection also very much focusing on oversized silhouettes. Entitled the ‘RICHTER’ collection after their Creative Director’s personal experience of an earthquake when travelling in Greece, the items feature unique graphics of Richter scale recordings. The monochromatic theme of the garments, ranging from basketball shorts to bomber jackets, RAW WAR is definitely one of the brands to look out for in the next couple of years. Having already been featured in three of British Vogue’s issues, from July to September, the brand is continuing to break boundaries as sustainability is right at the top of their brand values.

The 2019 winter collection from German fashion brand XUMU was their biggest release ever, focusing on their luxury style of “giant” coats. Once again, another brand proving how big the oversized trend is this AW season, XUMU released several different styles of puffer and plush jackets which are surely going to keep you warm, yet very stylish, in the upcoming winter months. One of the standout pieces, which sold out instantly, was the ‘Sultana’ jacket – a giant plush coat adorned with Swarovski crystals. Clearly a spectacular jacket which filled high-end fashion and streetwear fans with an abundance of excitement when first previewed to the public, this jacket, alongside many of their other styles, is set to be restocked in January. XUMU this season have done everything oversized; with their extra giant glossy zippers adding that additional touch of extravagance in order to have the ultimate baggy fit this winter!
