How to give your Winter wardrobe extra mileage

Having now transitioned into Spring, it’s not long before people start trying to plan and shop ahead for the Summer season. Transitioning your winter clothes into Spring isn’t much of a step, replacing a coat for a jacket or a scarf for a necklace. However, it’s common for people to panic buy when it comes to summer, buying a whole brand new wardrobe. Well, I am here to tell you to put down the purse and step away from the shops. If you need some help on giving your Winter wardrobe that extra bit of mileage then look no further, I am going to show you how a Winter outfit can be transformed into a Summer outfit with minimal effort.

Knee high boots

Wrapping up in the Winter with layers on layers is sometimes hard to do while looking cute, but by this point everyone knows knee high boots are the perfect way to turn an average outfit into a sassy, put together look. Well, I am here to tell you that the same rule applies in Spring and Summer. Instead of pairing the knee highs with jeans, or tights and a cosy jumper dress, throw on a skirt and top 2 piece for a night out, or keep it casual with an oversized t-shirt dress. Use accessories like a belt to keep it flattering and a bag to complete the look.

Mom jeans

Skinny jeans seem like a distant memory with Mom jeans falling in first place these days. In the Winter, Mom jeans are a go-to for many, paired with some biker boots, a chunky knit jumper and an Aviator jacket gives off the perfect, cosy yet on-trend look. When the seasons change, there’s no need to say goodbye to your favourite denim, swap the boots for some white trainers, get rid of the layers and instead, wear a crop top or bralet. A white one will bring out your tan and match your shoes. A basic yet cute outfit for the warmer days. Throw on some sunnies and you’re good to go.

Cardigans and Jackets

This Winter, cardigans came back into fashion which gave us all a shock but we’re not mad about it! With layers, cardigans and jackets are easy to throw on in the Winter but they are also easily styled for the upcoming season. With any outfit, throwing on a jacket or cardigan and wearing it off the shoulder, brings a casual vibe to the look and is also handy to be able to throw on in the slightly colder evenings.

Accessorising is the key to giving your wardrobe extra milage. Any item of clothing can be worn all year round with the right accessories, adding a summer hat, a pair of tights, sunnies or jewellery can transform any outfit you put together. Playing with your makeup and hair style to match the season is also a great way to give your outfit an updated overall look!
