In the past 17 years, H&M has collaborated with renowned international designers including Versace, Balmain and Moschino. Today they have announced their 2021 collaboration with Simone Rocha, it will be the first time they have collaborated with an Irish designer. We won’t have long to wait either as the collection will be released on March 11.
Simone Rocha, who is the daughter of well-known fashion designer John Rocha, graduated with a BA in Fashion in 2008 from The National College of Art and Design in Dublin. In 2010 she graduated from the acclaimed Fashion MA at Central Saint Martin’s College in London and went on to debut at London Fashion Week the same year.
The Irish designer is known for her ultra-feminine designs using bows, tulle and lace – think Bridgerton vibes! Not only are H&M making history with collaborating with an Irish designer for the first time, but the collection will be the first that includes menswear.
Talking about the collection, Simone Rocha said she wanted the collection to bring “femineity, strength and modernity“. From the pictures that were released, we can expect pearl dotted trench coats, floral gowns and tulle skirts and we cannot wait!
