Brush, sip, create: Where every sip unleashes your inner Picasso!
Solent University student-run Carbon Magazine brings back for another year’s ‘Carbon Live’ event week. This year, it’s ‘Reimagined Week’, which will see four events spread over the week of the 27th of November.
Creatives, artists, and illustrators will get the opportunity to kickstart a career in the fashion industry as Carbon’s Carbon Live Reimagined kicks off next week. The Sip & Paint event (28th November) is the second in a series of four events designed to enlighten, entertain, and empower.
The Sip and Paint event is held at All Bar One in West Quay from 19:00-22:00 on Tuesday 28th November for an evening of cocktails, painting, and insightful industry talks. The tickets are £5.50 including a 50p booking charge on Fatsoma, which includes a cheeky cocktail.
The event is a compelling prospect for aspiring artists and design students hoping to get their foot in the door of the fashion industry. Carbon Live is proudly partnering with clothing giant SHEIN to deliver the week of events, who are generously giving standout attendees from the Sip n Paint the chance to win mentoring from the SHEIN X programme to help kickstart a creative career.
SHEIN X is an initiative launched by SHEIN to support and empower budding creatives by providing a platform, funding, and mentoring by utilising the brand’s huge resources. Established In 2021, SHEIN X has partnered with almost 3000 designers and artists from over 20 countries and has launched nearly 2000 collections with more than 25,000 original creations over the last two years.
The guest speaker, who happens to be a Solent Alumni, is a local SHEIN X designer who has successfully graduated from the programme and seen her unique collection go into production on SHEIN’s e-commerce platform. Come and hear how she got started, what tips she has for anyone entering this fantastic international design competition, and get insider knowledge on kickstarting your fashion design career!
The partnership between SHEIN and Carbon Live comes as an exciting addition to the ‘Re-imagined’ theme for the week. Re-imagining fits into many different contexts, making it an exciting prospect when it comes to event planning. Re-imagine, Re-design, and Re-think have all been central when executing ideas, resulting in an innovative and interesting week of events, including Sip N Paint.
This year’s events are all in aid of charity, with each event choosing a different charity of choice. Sip & Paints charity is a Southampton Art in Hospital charity. This programme helps bring together live art sessions for patients and staff alongside permanent and temporary art exhibitions to improve the hospital environment, creating less clinical settings, and reducing anxiety. Having these creative spaces is crucial to enhancing patient care through the transformational power of art.
They are currently raising money to introduce a live art programme for their patients and create exhibitions to improve the hospital. They have a goal of 70,000 to raise, and us working with them for this event is a great opportunity to add money to this cause so they can achieve their overall goal.
So, make sure you come along to have a fun night sipping on cocktails and realising your inner artist, as well as gaining an insight into the fashion industry and of course, most importantly, raising money for this incredible charity. Hopefully, see you there!
