Zara Turns To Black Swan

Zara has announced its collaboration with the New York City Ballet to create a Spring/Summer 2022 collection under the creative direction of artist Vanessa Beecroft who previously worked on Kim Kardashian’s “Skims” collection.

She bases her designs on ethereal forms made from mainly tulles and silks with inspiration from the dancers of the ballet.

The collection includes items such as tulle dresses, bodysuits and ruffled tops. More of our favourite pieces available were knitted sweaters, leggings and nude/black ballerina flats.

The collection retails from £25.99 to £79.99 from crop tops to dresses.

Zara is mid-change of removing the fast fashion label it is currently seen as, after new president Marta Ortega outlines in her future planning for the company.

Zara has also collaborated with Fashion Photographer Steven Meisel for these incredible images capturing the unique pieces of clothing modelled beautifully by the ballerinas. The campaign images show a “Black Swan” inspired look paired with a strong black Smokey eye and tightly slicked neat hair. With images from cinematic studio shots to supposedly candid portraits, the collection is magnificently photographed to show the clothes as not only impactful and elegant but personalised and intimate setting. Beautifully designed by art director Fabien Baron and stylist Karl Templar to bring Zara’s promotion and aesthetic closer to magazine standards, to show a more professional stand out collection.
