10 Steps To Feeling More Yourself Post Lockdown

SELF LOVE

The news that the lockdown is soon to be in the past, has us feeling excited. However, the lockdown took a toll on us all and has left us feeling demotivated. Here are a few steps to try to get you feeling yourself again.

  1. Remind yourself that it’s okay that you feel like you’ve gone off track, everyone is in the same situation. We’ve been in and out of lockdown for over a year now, so life has been tough. Try and stay positive about the situation and look forward to what is to come.
  2. Figure out and write down your goals, whether thats fitness and health or what you want to achieve work wise. Writing it down will help you feel more motivated to get it done and when you’ve achieved it, ticking it off will feel so liberating and satisfying.
  3. Setting a good sleeping pattern is so good in helping you feel fresher in the morning and ready for the day. Getting those 8 hours will definitely do your body good.
  4. Daily goals are another great way to feel more productive. Taking the time the evening before of what you want to get done the next day, is a great way of using your time wisely. Writing it down can make things seem less overwhelming and seems like an easier task.
  5. Start creating good habits, for example, doing a big food shop. I found myself just popping to the local co-op and getting what I fancied at the time. Planning your meals will not only save you money but also time and will help you to be a little more healthier. Getting those vitamins in your body will do your body justice.
  6. Why not try doing something active a few times a week, whether that’s going for a walk or the gym, now they’re back open, getting out the house to a knew environment can work wonders for your mental health.
  7. Now shops and outdoor dining is back, plan something with your friends, start to make life feel normal again. Even if you don’t have much money, window shopping and just being out in the atmosphere of the town will remind you that life is going to be back to normal soon.
  8. Having a self-care day is great for your self esteem and making yourself feel good about yourself, now salons are open, book that hair appointment you’ve been dying to have or get some new nails. Treat yourself!
  9. Drink water!! I know this seems like a weird step, but staying hydrated is so important for your body. If this is something you struggle with, having a fancy water bottle can help and have it close by all day. You’ll be surprised how better you feel.
  10. Don’t feel frustrated if you slip up, everyone has their ups and downs, it’s life and it’s normal!
