Are you tired of Uni Stress?

What better way to unwind and have fun than a Battle of the Universities in a Festive mini-game Experience? In just two weeks, Solent University students will be hosting an afternoon of light-hearted Nostalgia, promising an array of mini-games and festive treats. The aim of the day is for students to take a mental break from all the stress currently surrounding them and, more importantly, have fun! Ticket sales made from the event will be donated to the Student Minds Charity, raising awareness and funds for a crucial cause – mental health. Organised by a dedicated team of students who are hoping to spark a little festive joy in the likely exhausted minds of the Degree holders-to-be.

Date: 30th November 2023

Location: Solent Sports Complex (Multi-Sports-Hall)

Time: 14:30-16:00

Guests are likely asked to donate £3 in ticket format to the top student mental health charity in the UK, Student Minds. You can pre-register using this link: https://fatso.ma/YVCA and pay the £3 at the door, on the day.

The Winter Sports Day, hosted by Carbon Magazine and SHEIN, sponsors and collaborators, will feature a variety of winter-inspired activities suitable for all ages and skill levels. It’s all about letting go of the pressures of adulting and embracing the carefree joy of childhood. From fun games and activities to nostalgic treats and playful decorations, this event creates a whimsical atmosphere where you can forget about exams and deadlines for a while. So, get ready to unleash your inner child and have a blast at this event! Contenders will battle to score the highest in a Multi-Mini-Game Experience with Sponsorships such as Krispy Kreme and their brand-new winter-themed Doughnuts. From Flurry Frenzy (snowball shooting) to Rein in the Antlers (pin the tail on the reindeer), there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The main goal behind the event is to foster a sense of community while promoting the importance of mental health awareness and support.

Carbon Magazine and SHEIN ambassadors believe that combining the festive spirit of winter with a charitable cause is the perfect way to bring students together, in a time in History where social settings can be challenging for most.

Although the day will have a laid-back approach, a long-standing divide has separated Southampton’s two Universities, we encourage both parties to attend and see who will top the leaderboard and be the ultimate Winner of Winter Sports Day. The winner of each mini-game will receive a prize and the overall, highest-scoring individual will receive a 1.5L Bottle of Charles Heidseick Champagne.

May the best Uni win.
